Adele To Go On UK And Europe Tour Next Year

Adele has announced she will go on a European tour with her new album 25, starting in the UK at the end of February.

The singer put a video on Twitter where she said "Hello it's me Adele," before bursting into laughter.

"I can't even say that anymore," she added, in reference to her new single Hello which has been the subject of many memes and parodies in recent weeks.

"I have been bluffing this whole time and I am so relieved to finally tell you that I am of course coming on tour and I can't wait to see you all there. So see you all very, very soon."

The singer has been asked in numerous interviews if she had plans for a tour but has stayed quiet until now. 25 was released on 20 November.

Hello

The tour will start in Belfast on 29 February before moving to Manchester, London, Glasgow and Birmingham.

Advance sale tickets will be available on 1 December, with the general sale starting on 4 December.

A message on Adele's website says: "The resale of tickets will not be tolerated."

This comes as there are calls for a crackdown on ticket reselling which is ripping fans off.

In just days,  25 has officially set a new first-week sales record in the UK, outdoing Oasis.

On Thursday the Official Charts Company said sales stand at 737,000, sailing past the 696,000 opening week sales Oasis racked up with Be Here Now in 1997.

However, Oasis continue to hold the sales record for the first three days with their third album, Be Here Now, which shifted 696,000 sales when it was released.

In the US, Nielsen Music said that in just four days the British singer broke the record previously set by 'N Sync in 2000. The boy band's No Strings Attached sold 2.416 million albums in its first week whereas she has sold 2.433 million.

Adele's last album, 2011's 21, sold more than 11 million units in the US.
