Star Wars actor Harrison Ford has admitted the relationship between his on-screen character Han Solo and Chewbacca is like that of "an old married couple".
The 73-year old reprises the role he first made famous in the 1970s in the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Ford, who survived a plane crash in March, told Empire Magazine that he was delighted to work again with Peter Mayhew, who is back playing Chewbacca.
"It was as warm, as fuzzy as you might imagine. It was great to see old friends," he said.
In the original Star Wars trilogy, Han Solo was captain of the spaceship the Millennium Falcon and Chewbacca was his hairy co-pilot.
Seven feet five inch tall Mayhew, who returns as the giant Wookiee, added: "He came in, gave me a big hug and said: 'Welcome Back'. We still have the same bond, we look after each other."
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the seventh film in the series - and is expected to break box office records when it is released next month.
British actor John Boyega, who makes his Star Wars debut in the new film, has admitted he's finding it strange adjusting to all the extra attention he's getting ahead of its release.
He said: "It's just so weird, whether it's in the UK or the States, I can't get groceries without seeing a Star Wars-esque representation in the store. It's fun to see that and kind of surprising as well."
Meanwhile the film’s director JJ Abrams has again teased fans about the seeming omission of Luke Skywalker from all the movie's publicity.
In a charity video he asked: "Where’s Mark Hamill?"
Fans have been speculating about why the actor, who played the central character in the original trilogy, has been missing from the posters and trailers for the new film.
Hamill is known to have been involved in filming and has tweeted hints that he'll be back for the eighth film too but has so far been absent from the promotional material that has been released.
