Players may have been happy to wear garments proclaiming 'Bring on France 2016' but their assistant manager was having none of it.
Keane's exact reaction is not known, but we wouldn't be entirely surprised if it featured a reprisal of that notorious - and anatomically impossible - retort to Mick McCarthy before the 2002 World Cup: "Shove it up yer b----x". Although the manically bouncing man trying to give it to him doesn't look too frightened.

In fairness to Keane - whose resolute refusal to indulge in the merest hint of playfulness was essentially his defining characteristic as a player and manager - he did manage to crack a smile at the final whistle when he shared an actually quite touching moment with Martin O'Neill.
And, lest we forget, the Most Frightening Man In Football did not always reject the chance to pose in slightly humiliating circumstances when the call came from the marketing department:
We're not sure what looks more ridiculous in this picture: Paul Scholes touch-typing with the blank expression of a man who would much rather be supping a pint of mild in a Salford working men's club, Cristiano Ronaldo's 'come-text-me' pout, or Keane who is clearly treating his instruction to HOLD UP THE PHONE with the same demonic intensity as he did his manager's instructions to get up in Patrick Vieira's face.
