Manchester United transfer news & rumours: United to take advantage of Real unrest with £75m Gareth Bale bid

Manchester United are ready to take advantage of the upheaval at Real Madrid by finally making their move for Gareth Bale.

Yes, not 24 hours has passed since Rafael Benitez was brutally shown the door by the Spanish giants and United are ready to snatch one of their galacticos from under their very eyes.

Bale is said to be devastated by Benitez's departure and now faces an anxious wait to see if he will figure in incoming manager Zinedine Zidane's plans.

According to our report and another in the Mirror, the uncertainty at Real will not only encourage United to renew their interest in the Welshman but also alert Manchester City and Chelsea, who would be in the market for the former Tottenham man.

January transfer window closes in

The Mirror go a little stronger in their story, believing United will launch a £75m move for Bale and are confident of luring the former Premier League star back to English shores.

United remain desperate to add a creative spark to their team and have long ear-marked Bale as the player to turn their fortunes around.

United are keeping tabs on another striker, the in-form Lokomotiv Moscow frontman Oumar Niasse.

The Guardian reports that the 25-year-old is set for a £15m move to the Premier League and that a number of clubs are monitoring his situation.

While United have sent scouts to watch him during the first half of the season, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton, Newcastle and Aston Villa are also interested in the Sengal international.

Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco have already had bids turned down for Niasse but with his wife based in Manchester, Niasse is desperate to move to England too.

The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals in 21 games this season to help his club move up to third in the table, five points behind leaders CSKA Moscow.

Another player being touted as a future Old Trafford player is Lazio star Felipe Anderson.

The Brazilian was linked with a switch to United in the summer, but United's bid of £37m - which was subsequently increased to £59m - was turned down by the Italians.

Now it appears Lazio President Claudio Lotito is open to selling the player for around £37m following the winger's below-par half of the season.

One player who has slipped through the net is Demarai Gray who has confirmed his switch from Birmingham to Leicester City.

The teenager had been linked with a switch to Old Trafford in recent weeks but has finally decided to complete a move to the former table toppers.

The Express says that the 19-year-old has joined for an undisclosed fee and signed a four-and-a-half year deal to become their first signing.
