Missing Country Music Singer's Body Found

Officials in Oklahoma have recovered the body of a country music singer who disappeared after going duck hunting in severe weather.

Backroad Anthem frontman Craig Strickland had been feared dead since last week when rescue crews found his friend's body near their capsized boat on Kaw Lake.

On Monday, the 29-year-old singer's wife, Helen Strickland, tweeted: "Craig Strickland was found today. He is safe with his Father in Heaven."

Backroad Anthem, which had been posting updates on the search for Strickland on Twitter and Facebook, retweeted his wife's post.

Strickland and Chase Morland - both experienced hunters - decided to brave the bad weather that swept across the US Midwest last week.

Severe flooding in the region has been blamed for more than 30 deaths.

Morland eerily alluded to the dangers in his last tweet on 27 December.

He wrote: "In case we don't come back' @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm".

One of Strickland's bandmates told Fox News last week the singer was an avid hunter - a passion he shared with Morland. Both men regularly posted images from their hunting trips on social media.
