Good manners cost nothing and so it proved even under the most tense of circumstances at the Aviva Stadium on Monday night.
In the second leg of the play-offs to reach the European Championships the Republic of Ireland were tied 0-0 with Bosnia, both on aggregate and on the night – before the Republic won a penalty.
Jon Walters stepped up, but unfortunately so did all the Irish substitutes in the middle of their warm-up routines.
At the most pivotal moment in Ireland's qualifying campaign, one group of fans couldn't see the action past their own winger James McClean's backside.
Thankfully Walters waited just long enough for fans and player to sort it all out amicably, before lashing the ball past a wrongfooted Begovic in the Bosnian goal.
The Republic were off headlong down the road to Euro 2016, while a little extra goodwill had sprung into the world from one corner of the crowd.
One of the supporters who filmed the sequence even tweeted his thanks to James McClean 'for being sound', with the recording tacked on.
Cheers for being sound @JamesMcC14 http://pic.twitter.com/7x8wUd1hQz

McClean has previously attracted headlines for some of his actions and beliefs.
Respective palavers have been kicked up by McClean's refusal to wear a poppy on his shirt at games around Remembrance Day, as well as his turning away from the English flag when the national anthem was played during one of West Brom's pre-season friendlies in the US.
However, notwithstanding any disagreements people might have with him on matters such as the Remembrance Poppy and the English flag, it seems on this evidence that he's still quite a nice bloke all the same.
