VISION has emerged of the scary moment a passenger jet is forced to abandon landing after wild winds pushed it sideways.
The CityJet flight from London City Airport to Cork looked all set to land until crosswinds changed the direction of the plane as it tried to touch down.
The jet can be seen sideways as it lands for a brief moment, before the pilot pulls up and takes off.
The plane was able to land safely on its second attempt.
No passengers or crew were injured in the dramatic take off.
Several flights were cancelled as Storm Barney swept across the UK this week.
The Independent reports that one flight, Ryanair’s FR-1183 from London Gatwick, aborted two landing attempts before being diverted to Liverpool.
