The big news from this year's Golden Globes nominations was undoubtedly the brilliant performances of British actors.
The nominations kept on coming, both in the television and film categories, with both Idris Elba and Mark Rylance picking up nominations in both.
Rylance was nominated for Bridge of Spies and Wolf Hall, and Elba was nominated for the hugely popular Luther, as well as the film Beasts of No Nation.
Maggie Smith was a surprise nominee for her part in Alan Bennett's The Lady in the Van, while Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet will be going head-to-head for best supporting actress.
Winslet stars in Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs, with the lead role played by Michael Fassbender, who also gets a mention.

As Jobs' right-hand woman Winslet humanises his genius and the best scenes see her in shot.
Speaking of amazing women: Carol stars Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett, who are both superb and who will go head-to-head for the best actress award.
This story of forbidden love in the 50s is beautiful and it's impossible not to fall in love with Blanchett in particular.
