Hollywood actor Burt Reynolds has said he has no sympathy for Charlie Sheen and that he "deserves" to have HIV.
Sheen revealed last month that he was diagnosed with the virus three years ago.
Reynolds told the ITV programme Loose Women he thought the actor had "handled it badly".
The Deliverance star: "His father is a very, very decent man and a dear friend of mine.
"I feel bad for him but Charlie, I don't feel bad for him. He's getting what he deserves. If you’re going to misbehave like that, they're going to get you."
Sheen is being sued for assault, negligence and emotional distress by an ex-girlfriend who claims she had sex with him five times before he told her he was HIV-positive.
Here is the actor with his brother Emilio Estevez and father Martin Sheen at the premiere Charlie's new movie The Arrival in 1996. The actors have all taken different paths in their acting careers
