‘It was the worst flight of my life’

A CHINESE passenger claims to have endured the worst flight of her life — after her armrest was taken over by the bare feet of the woman sitting behind her.

The aggravated traveller, named Ms Wu, told of how the passenger behind her had rested her feet on her chair for the entirety of the AirAsia flight FD588 from Bangkok to Xi’an on November 29 — a flight that takes four hours and 25 minutes.

Ms Wu said she complained in English to the hostess, who was said to be Thai, but was told nothing could be done because “they are all Chinese”, according to the People’s Daily Online.

Ms Wu said the hostess recommended that she personally deal with the problem, before walking away.

A disgruntled Ms Wu claims that as soon as she got on the plane, the unidentified passenger took her shoes and socks off and proceeded to put up her feet on her armrest.

Ms Wu told Beijing Youth Daily: “I got up at 4am to catch the flight. I had intended to sleep on the plane, but I couldn’t because of her feet.

“They draped over my arm I couldn’t eat or drink and became constrained throughout the voyage.”

Ms Wu says she only got one opportunity to get up for a stretch when the woman went to the toilet — but as soon as the ‘foot woman’ came back she put her feet back up again.

Ms Wu added: “She was also chatting very loudly, it was so inconvenient”.

Ms Wu blasted the airline’s staff, saying: “No, I am not happy with the flight or the attitude of the staff.

“They have an obligation to stop the uncivilised behaviour of travellers.

“Although it is a low-cost airline, the service should not be cheap. I have a question, is it only a threat to flight safety that will change the behaviours of these flight attendants?”

Once home, Ms Wu posted her experience online alongside the pictures of her tormentor, thought to have been taken by Ms Wu during the flight.

The post caused an influx of comments, with one user saying: “I could almost smell the feet from outside the screen.”
