LUTON has been crowned as the worst place in the UK by users on a social networking forum.
The town, in Bedfordshire, got slated in a recent Reddit thread titled: ‘What is the absolute worst place you have been to in the UK?’ and users of the forum came to the conclusion that Luton takes the cake when it comes to terrible places.
Some users have dubbed the town as the “worst place in the country”, “the town at the end of humanity” and even “a s-------”.
While another, cattlebarGreater, said: “Visited Luton very briefly with my parents last year to see a relative. We couldn’t have been in her house longer than half an hour when we came out to find our car keyed.
“Great stuff. Cheers, Luton.”
CatRugLZol added: “Whenever I hear southerners talk about how bad the North is I just think ‘Man, have you ever been to Luton?’”

This isn’t the first time Luton has been dubbed the worst place in the UK.
In a recent survey by Rightmove, the town was named the eighth-worst in the UK.
But it was ranked as the 93rd best place to live in the UK by uSwtich — 23 places up from previous years.
Luton’s council has a slightly different view of its borough describing it as a “a bustling and lively place with a strong cosmopolitan feel”.

The town is known for its diversity, local soccer team, annual carnival and good transport links.
Some Reddit users did credit Luton’s good qualities for its “three motorway junctions, two railway stations and an airport that can be used for a swift exit” — when in fact it has three stations and one motorway.
Other places to come under fire were Blackpool, Stevenage and the Welsh town of Rhyl.
