Sacha Baron Cohen has attempted to placate the people of Grimsby by offering to build a cinema there if his new film - named after the northern town - is a success.
The comic, who plays football hooligan Nobby in the film, was talking to Sky News in character on the red carpet of its London premiere.
Baron Cohen poked fun at Staines as Ali G and Kazakhstan as Borat, and it appears Nobby is not going to hold back on his "home town".
"The sad thing is we've got a 15 rating so 80% of the mothers won't be able to watch it," said Nobby, who was dressed in a polo neck, socks, sandals and underwear.
But he went on: "Grimsby is the greatest place on Earth.
"If the film goes well I'm going to build a cinema in Grimsby. I'm not saying how big it will be - it'll be a large screen in a pub."
The film has already been criticised for deriding the working class, but director Louis Leterrier insists this is not the case.
He told Sky News: "It's kind of a homage to Grimsby. It's very colourful. The second part of the movie takes place in Grimsby and shows how amazing and colourful the characters are.
"It's about the underclass taking over."
