Migrants at the Calais camp known at The Jungle say far fewer of them are managing to stow away on lorries and trains heading to the UK.
A tall security fence is evidence of how security has been strengthened over the last six months.
It comes as Sky News filmed the camp in 360 degrees, giving a unique perspective into the muddy, dank conditions endured by around 6,000 people.
We were told that a few months ago as many as 40 migrants a day were getting to England illegally. Anecdotally, that figure has dropped to just a couple of people a day.
One Iranian man said he had tried and failed more than 200 times.
The 25-year-old engineering student said he felt trapped because returning to Iran was impossible for him, but life in the camp was also very difficult.
Sky News' 360 perspective gives a sense of what life is like day to day and gives the viewer the chance to direct the camera.
Take a look round the camp and discover the story from where you want to see it.
Just move your phone or iPad up or down or across to the left or right, or use a mouse to orientate yourself. It is that easy.
