A trailer for the new Nina Simone biopic has sparked a fresh attack by the jazz singer's family on star Zoe Saldana.
A promotional trailer was released along with a poster late on Wednesday, showing Saldana wearing what appeared to be skin-darkening make-up and a prosthetic nose.
Simone's daughter, Lisa Simone Kelly, has previously led criticism of the decision in 2012 to cast Saldana - of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent - in the lead role of the film, called Nina.
Following the disapproval of the trailer from some social media users, Saldana, 37, responded with a quote from Nina Simone herself, tweeting: "I'll tell you what freedom is to me- No Fear... I mean really, no fear."
That prompted the verified Twitter account of the Simone estate to reply: "Cool story but please take Nina's name out of your mouth. For the rest of your life."

They later added: "Hopefully people begin to understand this is painful. Gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, nauseating, soul-crushing," the tweet read. "It shall pass, but for now..."
When the casting decision was first announced, Ms Kelly had told the New York Times: "My mother was raised at a time when she was told her nose was too wide, her skin was too dark.
"Appearance-wise (Saldana) is not the best choice."
An online petition calling for Saldana to be fired gathered more than 11,500 signatures, but once it became clear Saldana would be keeping the role the petition was changed to a call for a boycott of the film.
Nina is due for release in US theatres on 22 April, with a UK release date yet to be announced.
