Victoria Wood's comedy partner Julie Walters has said she is "too heart sore to comment" as she described Wood's passing as an "incalculable" loss.
She led tributes from the world of entertainment after the 62-year-old died from cancer.
Ricky Gervais tweeted: "RIP the brilliant Victoria Wood. So innovative, funny and down to earth. This has not been a good year."
Caitlin Moran observed: "Seeing Victoria Wood on TV - working class, bookish, silly, clever, doing stand-up, singing, acting - made me think 'Girls can do this'."
Comedian Jenny Eclair wrote: "All of us women in comedy owe a huge debt of gratitude to Victoria - she paved the way."
Broadcaster Emma Freud wrote on Twitter: "No no no no no no no no no. Not Victoria Wood. Comic relief hero and friend. No."
Absolutely Fabulous actress Jennifer Saunders said: "Cant believe Vic has gone. She was truly an inspiration and had so much left to to give and we won't see it. She was so funny."

Comedian Sarah Millican said she was "incredibly sad" and described Wood as a "true comedy icon".
James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore said the news was "difficult to absorb". He wrote on Twitter: "She was a total joy to work with and watch on TV. 2016 is becoming a terrible year."
The journalist Janice Turner wrote: "Victoria Wood sold out the Royal Albert Hall for 15 consecutive nights. No comedian understood women better."
While John Bishop said simply: "A true comedy legend #ripvictoriawood."
The impressionist Rory Bremner said: "No. NO. This is too much. Now lovely, warm, funny, brilliantly talented Victoria Wood has gone. Words, songs, plays, she wrote the lot. So sad."
