A man who bought a lifesaving drug and increased its price by 5,000% has apparently had his Twitter account hacked.
Martin Shkreli's account was compromised just hours he pleaded his innocence on the social network following his arrest on suspicion of securities fraud.
One post by the hacker read: "Anyone want free money? Willing to donate hundreds of thousands to charities before I go to prison..."
Another said: "**** the FBI you know they can't touch a god like me." A third said simply: "I am now a god."
Shkreli, an Albanian entrepreneur, was arrested on Friday and led away from his apartment in New York by FBI agents.
The hacker also changed Shkreli's username to Martin The God, and posted an offensive bio.
His representatives later released a statement saying: "Mr Shkreli is confident that he will be cleared of all charges filed.
"It is no coincidence that these charges, the result of investigations which have been languishig for considerable time, have been filed at the same time of Shkreli's high-profile, controversial and yet unrelated activities.
"At a press conference, the government suggested that Mr Shkreli was involved in a Ponzi scheme. Ponzi victims do not make money, yet Mr Shkreli's investors enjoyed strong results.
"In summary, Mr Shkreli expects to be fully vindicated."
Shkreli gained notoriety in September when his start-up bought the right to a life-saving drug called Daraprim and then hiked its price from $13.50 to $750 per pill.
