Tina Fey Has 'Too Much' Trump Material For SNL

American comedy star Tina Fey has told Sky News Donald Trump has provided her with "too much" material for her Saturday Night Live reunion with Amy Poehler next week.

The actress left the show in 2006 and is perhaps most memorable for her cameos as the former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin during the 2008 election.

She couldn't divulge too much about what the show will contain but did say Mr Trump is a constant source of material for them at this point.

Earlier this week the Republican White House front-runner provoked global outrage by calling for Muslims to be blocked from entering the US after the deadly shootings in California by two Muslims who authorities said were radicalised.

"I don't think either of us is going to play him but I'm sure Taran Killam (SNL comedian), I'm sure there will be something but until then, I don't know, I'll have to save up," Fey said.

Fey is in London to promote her new film with Poehler, called Sisters.

It follows siblings Kate and Maura who decide to throw one last epic house party before their parents sell the family home.

It was written by another SNL collaborator Paula Pell who used excerpts from her own teenage diaries for the film.

Sisters also stars SNL regular and another of the women's friends Maya Rudolph.

"When you leave Saturday Night Live everyone does their own thing for a while and then the beautiful thing about this is that it's a little reunion," Pell said.

The film is released in the UK on Saturday but hits cinemas in the US on the same day as the hugely-anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

But Fey isn't bothered about the competition: "I feel bad for them. I feel like they're kind of on their heels."

"It's not fair to them, we blind-sided them. We have more special effects," Pell added.

Fey and Poehler have been friends for over 20 years after meeting on the Chicago comedy circuit. Last year they hosted the Golden Globes but this time that responsibility falls to British comedy star Ricky Gervais.

Fey said audiences are in safe hands with The Office star: "He'll do fine, you know. He knows what to do."
