A medical examiner says Bobbi Kristina Brown's face being immersed in water, along with drug intoxication, led to her death.
The daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston died at a hospice last July after months in a coma.
She was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in Atlanta, six months earlier.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office in Atlanta released a statement on Friday on the death as it prepares to release the full autopsy report.
It determined how the 22-year-old likely died after reviewing documents including medical records and investigative files.
It said marijuana and alcohol were involved in the death, along with medications used for sedation or to treat anxiety.
A court order had prevented details of the cause of death from being released.
But that was lifted on Thursday by a judge following media requests.
