Watford's Odion Ighalo celebrates goal against Liverpool in style with club mascot Harry the Hornet

Odion Ighalo's stock is rising so fast in the Premier League that he's even earned the hero-worship of Watford's own Harry the Hornet.

As the Nigerian scored his fifth goal in four games to seal a 3-0 victory over Liverpool, the Watford club mascot ran over to ape his celebrations.

It's not clear how much Ighalo appreciated the emulation, but if he keeps up his current form then it's the sort of thing he'll have to get used to.

No one in English football has bettered Ighalo's goal tally of 28 in the calendar year of 2015 and his partnership with Troy Deeney has been one of the revelations of this Premier League season.

With Watford continuing success, Harry's chances of fulfilling his dream and playing for the first team look ever more slim

Ighalo and Deeney accounted for 41 goals between them last season in Watford's promotion campaign, and Premier League defences have so far appeared equally as stumped as their Championship counterparts in the face of the dynamic duo.

Not to be outdone in the celebration stakes, down the other end of the pitch Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes made full use of the space available to him to run wild with celebration, to the delight of the home crowd.

Meanwhile, beyond the playing squad, Harry the Hornet's rise in the public consciousness continues apace.

Prior to Watford's home match against Manchester United on 21 November, the mascot joined the players of both sides in paying tribute to the victims of the Paris terror attacks.
