Liverpool transfer rumours and news: Liverpool set sights on Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen

With their goalkeeper problems showing no sign of ending, Liverpool have decided the best option is to look elsewhere and they have identified their target: Barcelona shot-stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Merseyside club have reportedly been in touch with Ter Stegen's representatives over a move to Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp is a firm fan of Ter Stegen, who is reportedly unhappy with his amount of playing time at the Nou Camp.

Whether he is willing to turn his back on such a big club is uncertain.

It has been reported that Liverpool have not yet been in touch with Barcelona over signing the German, instead preferring to establish whether Ter Stegen wants the move.

Meanwhile, Mario Balotelli's agent has said he wants to speak to Klopp to see if his man has any chance of making a return to Anfield.

Balotelli is currently on a season-long loan at AC Milan, and Mino Raiola has not ruled out the possibility of the Italian returning to Liverpool in the summer.

"He had to go away because with Brendan [Rodgers] there was no possibility to develop any more. There was a preconception towards Mario and I think from his private part of life he has proven them wrong," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"But we have to be realistic. He didn't perform well in 2015 and 2016 needs to be his year. That is his challenge."

Asked if Balotelli could play for Liverpool again, Raiola said: "Theoretically and by law, yes. He's owned by Liverpool so at the end of the season he should go back to Liverpool.

"Will I speak with Jurgen Klopp? For sure. That is part of my job, to speak to all the managers. I know Klopp from Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Dortmund.

"If we talk about the quality and the talent Mario has, that is without question. Then you also need a manager that believes in you and gives you the chance to prove yourself. We will talk to him when it is time to talk to him.

"Whether Klopp has a plan for him or not - I don't know, I haven't spoken to him about this or to Liverpool.

"I think it is too soon. Obviously if Mario does what he has to do, there is maybe another view on him also.”

Liverpool are interested in RB Leipzig striker Emil Forsberg, according to German newspaper Bild.

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for the Bundesliga 2 side and would cost Liverpool around £6.6m.

The Sweden international has only been at Leipzig for 12 months, having joined them from Malmo in the January 2015 transfer window.

Other clubs thought to be interested include Leicester City, Roma, Inter Milan and Valencia.

Finally, Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic is reportedly set to complete his move to Anfield on Monday.

Liverpool beat a number of their rivals to sign Grujic in a deal worth around £5m.

The Serbian midfielder will be announced as a Liverpool player before returning to Red Star where he will spend the rest of the season on loan.
