When is the ceremony?
Fifa's big night - and one of the few occasions they can probably guarantee that their festivities will not be interrupted by FBI agents hauling away sharp-suited executives covered in bed-sheets - is on Monday, January 11. The ceremony itself starts at 5.30pm GMT in the Kongresshaus, a concert hall in Zurich.
Any big stars performing?
Hmm. Well, Leona Lewis is there. And two young Croatian cellists Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, who go by the name of 2CELLOS, oddly. And just to cap the surrealist extravaganza, the ceremony will be hosted by actor James Nesbitt and Sky Sports presenter Kate Abdo. Together at last!
Is it on television?
Live coverage will be provided by Eurosport, and it will be streamed on Fifa.com.
The shortlist
How is the award decided?
The original 23-man shortlist has been sliced down to just the three. Voting - which closed on Nov 20, 2015 - is open to national team coaches and captains, plus a band of journalists selected by France Football and Fifa. They all select their first, second and third choice for each award with five, three and one points assigned respectively. The award is given to the person who receives the highest weighted percentage of votes in relation to the other nominees. If the results are a tie, the nominee with the most first-choice votes wins.
