PASSENGERS were left fearing for their lives when nine metre waves and 240km winds battered a cruise ship, with one pleading: “Lord please help us.”
Horrifying footage and pictures of the carnage was posted from holiday-makers on board MS Anthem of the Seas as it passed through a hurricane-force storm.
Videos showed towering waves outside cabin windows yesterday after passengers were told to stay in their rooms as the Caribbean cruiser rocked from side to side.

One, Jacob Ibrag, took to Twitter to tell of the terror on board the luxury liner.
He wrote: “Hungry, tired and seeking prayer from all of you tonight. The #anthemoftheseas has been rocking with no end in sight.
“Don’t think I’ve ever missed land this much. In other news, wish I took those swimming lessons ...
“Mother nature decided to take us all for a ride. Just wonder if this storm system could’ve been avoided.”

Staff also battled to prevent damage on the cruise ship, with Michael Cuenco posting images of smashed crockery and food in the ship’s kitchen with the caption: “Lord please help us.”
Others tried to make light of the situation, with Maggie Kulbokas posting footage of a miniature bottle of vodka sliding off of a table as the boat rocks.
She added: “#Lockdown To avoid cannibalism, cabin minibars are free during 100mph+ wind storm.”
Another, identified only as Greg, tweeted a picture of chairs and tables littered on the floor with the caption: “Things are a little out of place.”

The ship left Cape Liberty in New Jersey, US, on Saturday for a seven-day cruise.
It was en route to Port Canaveral, near Orlando, Florida, when radar images appeared to show it passing through a hurricane-force storm off the coast of South Carolina.
Royal Caribbean, which operates the cruise liner, told CBS News the ship had “encountered some high winds and seas during its transit”.
It added: “In an abundance of caution, the captain asked all guests to stay in their staterooms until the weather improved.

“There has been no damage to the ship due to the weather. The ship is currently sailing to Port Canaveral.”
The ship, which launched last April and can hold 4,905 passengers, had an indoor surf-simulator, a climbing wall and a skydiving tunnel.
