A PLANE carrying almost 70 passengers has safely landed at Melbourne Airport after smoke filled the cabin.
The Tigerair aircraft, understood to be flight TT511 from Brisbane, landed just before 10am.
An Airservices Australia spokesman said the crew reported smoke filling the cabin.
Melbourne Airport enacted its airport emergency plan with paramedics, fire crews and police at the scene.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics were responding to reports of a hazmat incident.
Tigerair has been contacted.
