The White House says that if you earn less than $20 (£14) per hour, you'll probably be replaced by a robot.
The Council of Economic Advisors (CEA) came to the conclusion in its economic report for 2016.
It said that worldwide shipments of industrial robotics doubled between 2010 and 2014.
This surge in automation could put workers in nonsupervisory roles that make less than $20 per hour out of work.
However, skilled workers who earn more are likely to find their work "complemented and improved" by workplace automation, CEA said.
In 2012, the last year of data cited in the report, the US had an average of 135 robots for every 10,000 workers.
This lags behind Germany and Japan, but is ahead of China.
The panel said that between 1993 and 2007, robotics accounted for 10% of all GDP growth in the US.
But the CEA offered some hope and reassurance to those who are likely to lose their jobs.
It said that history shows that as people are "displaced by technological innovations" they often end up in new jobs that emerge as a result.
