Fresh from Oscar glory, Mark Rylance has been nominated for a Best Actor Olivier Award for his role in Farinelli And The King at the Duke of York's Theatre.
He joins a star studded list of nominees which includes Nicole Kidman, Dame Judi Dench, Imelda Staunton and Gemma Arterton.
Rylance will next go up against Kenneth Branagh, Benedict Cumberbatch, Adrian Lester and Kenneth Cranham for the Best Actor gong.
He has just won his first Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in Stephen Spielberg's Bridge Of Spies, and already has two Olivier and three Tony Awards under his belt.
He also has a BAFTA for his role as Dr David Kelly in the TV drama The Government Inspector.
Now in its 40th year, the Olivier Awards is the most prestigious event in the UK's theatrical calendar.
Gypsy and Kinky Boots lead the nominations with eight and seven nominations respectively, and The Winter's Tale is up for six.
In the Best Actress category are Gemma Arterton, Denise Gough, Nicole Kidman, Janet McTeer and Lia Williams.
This is Dame Judi Dench's 15th nomination, having previously won six awards and one special award, and it's Imelda Staunton's 11th nod.
The nominees for MasterCard Best New Musical show a diverse offering on the London stage this year with nominees Bend It Like Beckham, In The Heights, Kinky Boots and Mrs Henderson Presents.
The Olivier awards will take place on Sunday, 3 April, at the Royal Opera House, and will be hosted by two-time Olivier Award-winner Michael Ball.
