50 Cent Flush With Fake Cash In Instagram Photos

50 Cent has said the stacks of cash seen in his social media photos which drew questions from a bankruptcy court judge aren't real.

The rapper has been ordered to appear in court later today to explain his Instagram photos.

One shows him sitting next to piles of cash arranged to spell out the word "broke".

The rapper said in a court filing on Tuesday that the dollar bills were props and he isn't hiding assets.

He added that the money is used for videos and photo shoots.

"Hip-hop culture is widely recognized as aspirational in nature.

"The standard by which artists and fans engage is commonly tied to money, jewelry, products and advertising over social media," the rapper said.

"Products and brands are now marketed through social media as an effective way to engage with consumers.

"Just because I am sensitive to the needs of maintaining my brand does not mean that I am hiding assets or that I have lied on my filings in this Bankruptcy Case, neither of which is true," he added.

50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson III, filed for bankruptcy last year after a New York City jury ordered him to pay $7m to a woman who said he posted her sex tape online.
