A PLANE was forced to make an emergency landing after a drunk passenger allegedly tried to pull open a door at 30,000 feet.

Witnesses said the man, believed to be British and in his 30s, started downing spirits from duty-free as soon as he boarded on Monday, according to The Sun.

After takeoff, he began charging up and down the aisles of the easyJet flight from Marrakech, Morocco to Gatwick, England. He then shoved his girlfriend when she tried to get him to sit down.

Later he caused panic by trying to open an emergency door as other passengers tried to restrain him.

The 180-seat Airbus A320 was forced to land in Bordeaux, France — two hours into the four-hour flight.

French police rushed on to the plane blowing whistles and arrested the man. Video shot by a passenger shows the man being dragged away by cops as others on board applauded.

Joe Mortell, 26, said: “He dragged his feet all the way to the police car.”

Another witness said: “He was drinking rum or whisky. Aircrew took the bottle off him but it was too late.”

An easyJet spokesman said: “Such incidents are rare. We take them very seriously and always push for prosecution.”

French police are still investigating.
