Andy Warhol Campbell's Soup Paintings Stolen

Seven Andy Warhol paintings depicting Campbell's Soup cans have been stolen in the US state of Missouri.

The pop art classics, which belong to a $500,000 collection of 10, were taken from Springfield Art Museum.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for the recovery of the works, which are 37in high by 24.5in wide.

The break-in happened in the early morning hours of Thursday, the FBI says.

The southwest Missouri museum remains open but the exhibit in which the paintings were displayed has been closed.

The Warhols have been owned by the museum since 1985, according to the FBI.

The prints are part of a 1968 collection by the artist which contained 250 prints in a numbered edition.
