TALENTED midfielder Brad Crouch has been withdrawn from the Crows team that plays Richmond at Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon after he reported hamstring soreness.

He will be replaced in the squad by Jarryd Lyons while Cam Ellis-Yolmen has been upgraded to the emergency list.

Crows general manager high performance Brett Burton said the club would take a no risk approach with Crouch.

“Brad experienced some hamstring tightness during training on Wednesday,” Burton said.

“We will take a conservative approach with him and assess him again during the week.”

The injury puts a cloud over Crouch’s return to the game after he missed all of last season to foot injury.

He is seen as a crucial ingredient in the Crows’ midfield, even more so after the crossing of best and fairest Patrick Dangerfield to Geelong.
