Jürgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, may have publicly backed his first-choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, but the German is already lining up a replacement for him, according to a report on Italian website Gianluca Di Marzio.
Following a string of unconvincing performances from Mignolet and Adam Bogdan, the Belgian's understudy, Liverpool have reportedly approached Lazio over a possible deal for Federico Marchetti.
Marchetti, whose contract runs out at the end of the season, is wanted by a number of clubs but the Merseysiders are believed to be favourites to sign the player.
Marchetti, 32, has been capped 11 times by Italy and has made 141 appearances for Lazio since 2011.
Another report, though, claims Klopp has his eye on Fernando Muslera, the Galatasaray goalkeeper, and is ready to pay the Turkish Super Lig club £15 million for the 29-year-old.
Muslera has already been linked with a move to the Premier League with Manchester United looking for a replacement for David de Gea who is expected to join Real Madrid next summer.
However, Galatasaray are valuing the Uruguay international at £35 million following a previous enquiry from United.

Finally, Liverpool are reported to be close to signing Sam Byram, the versatile Leeds United youngster, whose contract with the Championship side expires at the end of the season.
