Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Blues eye Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as Eden Hazard replacement

Arsenal and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is being tracked by Chelsea as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard.

According to The Sun and Daily Star, Belgium international Hazard is wanted by Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern and Manchester United and is waiting to see who Chelsea's new permanent manager will be before deciding his future.

Jose Mourinho was keen on the Ox when he was in charge at Stamford Bridge and the interest in the player has not waned, despite the Special One's departure.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has yet to make a real impact

As far as Hazard goes, The Star claims Manchester United are planning a sensational £65 million swoop.

United will turn to the reportedly-unsettled Belgium international after being told they stand no chance of landing their No 1 target - Real Madrid's Gareth Bale.

We are told United are 'poised to do battle with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich' for the playmaker in what could be the summer's biggest transfer scrap.

A United source is even quoted as saying: "The club has to be realistic and realise that signing Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo remains a long shot, which means alternative targets come into the equation.

"Eden Hazard is certainly one of those and the type of player United need if they want to start winning trophies again."

United's supposed offer to Hazard is thought to be worth around £250,000-a-week.

The Daily Express adds that Didier Drogba's arrival as a Chelsea coach could be key to the club holding onto Hazard.

Chelsea are poised to swoop for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to The Daily Star.

The Argentine is out of contract in the summer, and has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan.

Reports in Italy claim, however, that Juve and Inter are set to miss out on the player, with Chelsea now the frontrunners.

Premium Sport states that Lavezzi met with Chelsea officials on Thursday to finalise details for a contract that would see him arrive at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Is Lavezzi one of our top 50 transfer targets?

Arsenal and Tottenham are also interested in the 30-year-old, who featured for Argentina at the 2014 World Cup.

One striker who looks like he won't be heading to west London is Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato.

The 26-year-old has been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, but according to The Sun he may be moving elsewhere.

The newspaper claims Chinese Second Division side Tianjin Songjiang, managed by former Brazil coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, have launched a surprise bid for the Brazilian.

January transfer window closes in

It's easy to see why Pato may end up opting for a move to China - reports claim Tianjin Songjiang are willing to offer him close to £400,000-a-week, which would be far more than any Premier League team would be willing to pay.

Pato's reputation in Europe is still recovering from an ultimately doomed spell at AC Milan.

Who are Chelsea's key targets this transfer window?

Meanwhile, Metro claims Chelsea are close to completing the £30 million signing of Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira.

Guus Hiddink's need for reinforcements up front has been heightened by the expected return to Monaco of Radamel Falcao.

The Telegraph reports that Chelsea want to get rid of the Colombian striker, but Monaco wish to assess 29-year-old Colombian's fitness before taking him back.
