With scores of automobile manufacturers exploring driverless technology, one car maker says it is sticking with tradition.
The chief executive of Porsche has revealed that the firm has no plans to join luxury car makers who are trying to develop autonomous cars.
BMW and Mercedes-Benz are among the high-end car makers looking to make their vehicles driverless.
But Porsche boss Oliver Blume said he believes drivers want to remain in control at the wheel.
He said: "One wants to drive a Porsche by oneself. An iPhone belongs in your pocket, not on the road."
13% of vehicles are expected to have some autonomous features within the next nine years, representing a market of tens of billions of dollars.
The German-based company said its focus is on the performance and feel of its cars.
However it did say that it plans to offer hybrid versions of all its models in future, to lower emissions across its fleet.
The trend of developing driverless cars has a lot of momentum at the moment.
Uber says its fleet is likely to be driverless by 2030, Elon Musk expects the first vehicle to be approved in 2021, while Audi says its vehicles will be capable of fully autonomous driving by 2017.
