AN injury to Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has taken the shine off one of the best night’s of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds tenure, with the German boss fearing the England international could miss Euro 2016 as a result.
Henderson suffered a knee injury just before half-time and although he’ll only have scans on Friday in England, there are fears amongst the Liverpool medical staff that it could be damaged ligaments.
“I don’t like to speculate, what can I say until we have the scan because I can’t look into the knee, but it is not a small thing, I think, though we have to wait,” Klopp said.
“He has hurt his knee and it doesn’t look good, really bad news. He will have a scan tomorrow, but the news is not so good.”
It has been a frustrating campaign for the Reds captain, punctuated by heel and foot problems.
He was replaced by Joe Allen for the second-half.
