A man rescued off the coast of Cuba by a Disney cruise ship is suspected of being an Anonymous member who waged a computer attack on a children's hospital.
Martin Gottesfeld and his wife made a distress call from a boat, and he was pulled to safety by the nearby cruise ship.
But police connected Gottesfeld to an alleged attack on Boston Children's Hospital in 2014, and he appeared in court on Wednesday in the US on conspiracy charges.
If convicted he faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The hospital says it suffered $300,000 damages during the attack, which was connected to the case of Justina Pelletier.
The 16-year-old was held against her will at a secure unit at the hospital.
The FBI says Gottesfeld and Anonymous are responsible for shutting down the hospital's servers.
Agents say he also posted a video on YouTube which gave the public information about how to join the attack on the hospital.
Ms Pelletier was checked into the hospital in February 2013 with flu-like symptoms.
But doctors said the teenager was suffering from Somatoform disorder, a psychological condition that causes sufferers to feel pain despite there being no physical cause.
As a result, she was held in a psychiatric ward for 16 months, and finally released in June 2014.
